Hot Tip for Caulk Tubes
Sealing an open tube with hot-melt glue provides a quick fix to a pesky problem.
Saving partially used tubes of caulk used to be a problem for me. I would try to seal the spout with a nail or even a dedicated cap, but inevitably the unused caulk would solidify over time and become unusable. I now seal the open spout with a dab of hot-melt glue. It conforms to the opening and hardens quickly, providing an airtight seal. The resulting plug can be removed easily for the next caulk application.
