Vents for Wildfire Protection
Vulcan Vents provide an extra layer of protection from embers and flames.
For homes in wildfire-prone areas, fire damage is possible long before flames actually arrive on the site of a structure. Embers from nearby fires can make their way into homes, quickly igniting existing combustible material.
Because vents are particularly vulnerable places of entry for ember intrusion, Vulcan Vents has developed a product that creates an extra barrier between embers and flames and the inside of a home.
The backside of the vent is made of a fine stainless-steel mesh that stops embers from getting in. If flames do directly threaten the home, the coating on the honeycomb will swell and seal the vent off. Vulcan vents can be used on roofs, dormers, foundations, eves, soffits, gables, and ridges and come in a variety of flange styles depending on the type of exterior materials used.
Vulcan Vents are compliant with the California Building Code and are approved for use in all Wildland Urban Interface zones.
