Helpful Hold-Downs for Small Wood Pieces
Pull-release picture-hanging adhesive strips keep a small router template and workpiece in place.
When you’re working with very small or intricate pieces of wood, clamps can get in the way of your tools. But when you’re doing work such as using a router template, the pieces need to be held tight in position. I’ve seen other tips that suggest using hot-melt glue, but that technique can be messy and can damage the wood when the glue is removed. Using pull-release picture-hanging adhesive strips such as 3M Command strips solves the problem. While I’m working, the template and workpiece stay solidly in place. When the task is complete, I pull on the exposed tabs and everything separates with no residue or damage.
