Comprehensive Shelving for Complete Living
Adaptable, simple, and customizable, the String shelving system has a timeless and functional design.
There’s something about built-ins that makes a home feel both comfortable and high-end. While these will never go out of style, the modern world requires an equivalent that can adapt to changing room uses or can even travel with you if you need to move. The String System dates back to the 1940s as a sleek and flexible way to add all types of wall storage to a home. Nearly 80 years later, this system still feels fresh and relevant.
String shelving and storage is premised on simple and elegant forms with customizable and interchangeable parts to fit the storage and display needs of the space you are working with. It seems that there are nearly endless ways of arranging String shelving throughout the home. For a compact room with little space for storage, the Workspace line is a good place to start if you want to create a functional, multipurpose feature wall that makes efficient use of space.
Workspace comes in eight different starting configurations (availability depends on where you purchase) designed to integrate a desk, shelving, and—for more complex configurations—closed storage. The 32-in.-wide desk can be adjusted to different heights as needed. The String frame, onto which other components attach, is made of powder-coated steel, while the shelves are made of MDF or veneered particleboard with a lacquered finish. Both are available in a variety of neutral colors. The brackets that attach the shelves to the wire frame make it easy to switch up the details when desired.
Pricing starts at $550 for Workspace H, which includes two shelves and a desk, and goes up from there for larger and more complex configurations.
And the String System has components and finishes that will fit beautifully in any room in your home—not just your home office—so check out the entire collection.
