One-Hitch Hauling
Not only is the Rhino Hitch an ultra-adjustable trailer hitch, but its adjustments can be made without wrenches.
Every truck I’ve owned has had a similar trailer hitch setup, and I never thought much about any one of them or realized that there was a better way until I came across the Rhino Hitch. The Rhino Hitch is unique in a handful of ways, but its ultra-adjustability is where it stands apart from the others.
In addition to being unsafe, hauling a trailer that is not level can add loads of stress to both your truck and the trailer frame. Unlevel trailers can also change the aerodynamics of enclosed trailers, create excessive wear on expensive trailer tires, and hinder braking performance. Leveling a trailer is not a big deal if you only pull one trailer and haul the same load every time; just buy a ball mount with the proper drop, and you’re good to go. But if you own two or more trailers at different heights, you either need to own more than one ball mount, or you need to adjust the ball height every time you haul a different trailer.
Other adjustable hitches on the market require a couple of wrenches to change the height of the ball. With the Rhino hitch, all you need to do is hook up your trailer, pull the pin on the Rhino Hitch, use the trailer jack to adjust the trailer up or down until level, and then reinstall the pin. The hitch design is based off a parallelogram that prevents bindup and provides 9 in. of vertical adjustment while still maintaining its high towing capacities of 10,000 lb. to 16,000 lb., depending on the model. I have the hitch for a 2-in. receiver, but they’re made to fit 2-1⁄2-in. and 3-in. receivers as well. These billet aluminum hitches are made in the United States, and in addition to their durability and functionality, they just look cool. Prices start around $295, which includes a 2-in. and 2-5⁄16-in. ball.
