Sustainable Solid Interior Surfaces
Silestone's new Le Chic and Urban Crush collections feature surfaces made with 100% renewable energy and 20% recycled materials.
If you’re on the hunt for countertops, backsplashes, or accent walls that will last, both from a stylistic and a maintenance perspective, check out two new collections from the eco-friendly solid-surface brand Silestone.
The Le Chic collection features striking metallic flecks and veins similar to those seen in slabs of natural granite or quartz, and it comes in a half-dozen patterns ranging from bright pearlescent and sandy hues to a muted gray-blue and a deep black. The bold contrast of the veining would complement an equally bold design, whether it’s an ornate traditionally styled room or a contemporary space with abundant embellishments.
Urban Crush, on the other hand, feels like a good fit for industrial, modern, or minimalist designs. The collection comes in an assortment of hues reminiscent of slabs of limestone, polished concrete, and old blackboards, but each pattern is a bit more varied in color and feels more dynamic than the material it emulates.
Regardless of which Silestone collection and pattern you choose, the hard, nonporous surfaces are nearly impervious to stains and scratches and are suitable for wet environments, including showers. Plus, the factory that makes the slabs uses 100% renewable energy and 20% recycled materials, so the slabs are easy on your conscience too. Slabs come in two sizes—55 in. by 120 in. and 63 in. by 128 in.—and three thicknesses, from just under 1/2 in. to just over 1-1/8 in.
