May 28, 2024 • This week, Saint-Gobain announced that they have formed a collaborative relationship with TimberHP to distribute TimberHP’s wood fiber insulation products in North America through Saint-Gobain subsidiary, CertainTeed Inc. This partnership also grants CertainTeed exclusive distribution rights in Canada.
Who is TimberHP?
TimberHP is a startup company based in Maine that was spearheaded by Matthew O’Malia and Dr. Joshua Henry. O’Malia is an acclaimed architect known for his high-performance, affordable designs, while Henry is a materials chemist focused on energy conservation and renewable energy. Their company produces sustainable, nature-based insulation from wood fiber using residual wood chips and hydroelectric power. Saint-Gobain’s press release notes that “when fully launched, the offering will include loose fill, batt, and rigid board insulation products.”
