FHB Podcast Segment: How to Lower Indoor Humidity Levels
In this Fine Homebuilding Podcast segment, the team discusses the best ways to reduce indoor humidity levels.
In episode 644 of the Fine Homebuilding Podcast, Caleb Carpenter of Rad Woodworks asks for advice on dealing with high humidity levels in his 10-year-old modular home. He is considering installing a heat-recovery ventilator as well as investing in an energy audit and blower-door test. Heat-recovery ventilators (or HRVs) can keep up to 80% of the energy in exhaust air inside a house. Additionally, Caleb is thinking about getting a heat-pump water heater to reduce energy bills and potentially address humidity issues. Check out the video above or listen to the full podcast to see if Caleb is on track with this project and to hear our team’s recommendations.
