Step Up Your Game
The RealTruck AMP Research Bedsteps give you easy access to your truck-bed storage.
With trucks getting taller, and me getting older, retrieving things from the bed of my pickup can be a challenge. To avoid looking like a tool while trying to get at my tools, I recently installed two RealTruck AMP Research Bedsteps on my truck.
The Bedstep is designed to be installed near the back bumper to help you climb up into the bed. I also installed the Bedstep2 (not shown) on the side of the bed just behind the cab—it allows me to reach over the side if I just want to grab something without climbing in.
The designs are very simple and the steps are easy to operate. You can use your foot to both deploy and retract the steps. They have a non-slip surface for wet or snowy conditions, and won’t rust (a major concern in Minnesota where I work, with the winter salt on the roads) because they’re made of high-strength aluminum alloy.
The steps are rated for 300 lb., made in the United States, and each take about 30 minutes to install. Both styles of step cost $330 each and can found at realtruck.com.
