Simple Miter Measurements
Align the workpiece and the tape measure on the edge of a saw base for easy measuring and marking.
There are several good tricks to help measure and mark the distance between the short ends on casing miters. What works best for me is to first cut the miter on one end of the board and then line up the short, inside part of the miter with the end of my saw base. Then I simply hook my tape on the base and mark the trim board.
