Sticker Smudge Solution
Use this method to clean packaging tape residue from building materials without damaging a surface.
In removing branding labels or packaging tape from the finished surfaces of building materials, adhesive is often left behind as a smudge on the product. Before potentially damaging the surface with a scraper or harsh chemicals, try this: Place the offending sticker or tape back over the adhesive blotch, press firmly, and then remove it. The residue will often come off cleanly. If it doesn’t, try again. If the original sticker won’t do the job, try pressing a piece of painter’s tape over the adhesive and pulling it off with that.
