If you’re working in a precarious place with a circular saw, like up on a roof, and you don’t want it to become unplugged from your extension cord, you could tie the cords in a knot and hope they don’t get snagged on the gutter, but there’s a better way.

Thanks for this video, it is really helpful and will be too for those who are inexperienced or new. Your advice and message through the video and writings are clear and perfect.

Simple yet effective! I'm sure I will be doing that soon this week at work.

    3. Suzda | Sep 23, 2013 07:37am | #3

This is a nice hint, but who is going to take the time to make this when a knot will suffice. The wire setup will still get hung up on the edge of the roof. It’s much faster and probably cheaper to use a couple of wraps of electrical tape around the connection. Added benefit of this method is that you water proof the connection.

Frustratingly, the video isn't playing for me.
      Could someone explain the tip?

    5. oscar_mann | Sep 23, 2013 08:46pm | #5

Put it on the cord and leave it there.. it ties the cord when rolled and holds the plug

    6. Kevin_Bast0 | Sep 23, 2013 08:50pm | #6

We changed all our cord ends to Qwik-loks, so we never have bother anything. qwiklok.com these things are great!!

    7. user-2443079 | Sep 24, 2013 08:40pm | #7

There is a much better way that we have used for many years and that is to join the cords with electrical tape which also helps if the cord gets wet which happens a lot on big concrete jobs

    8. toolpouchguy | Oct 05, 2013 08:50pm | #8

i do the same thing but it stays on the extension cord
      and thats my cord wrap

user-660115, Are you viewing this on an iPhone? We're working on some compatibility issues with the video player we use. On an iPhone, I've found that the video player works OK if you quickly press the play button as soon as the page loads. Hopefully we'll have the player working seamlessly on all devices very soon. Thanks for your patience.
