Shingle Stacker
Make staining cedar shingles easier with this makeshift drying rack.
I built this drying rack for pre-staining cedar shingles. The frame is made of 2x4s with the 1x2s screwed on each side. I spaced the 1x2s 1⁄4-in. apart using a 1⁄4-in. piece of plywood as a spacer guide. The gap left enough room for me to insert the shingle tips on either side without them bumping up against each other in the middle. This rack, and a steady stream of audiobooks, podcasts, and music, made staining 14 squares of shingles manageable.
