Alex Burchfield grew up in western Montana. He has worked as a hardwood floor installer, a farmhand, and a lumber associate at The Home Depot. He is currently a MFA candidate in fiction at Columbia University, where he is a Clein Lemann fellow. His writing appears in West Branch, The Great River Review, and The Washington City Paper
