While pursuing a degree in civil engineering, Andy Moore took an entry-level job with a general contractor to pay the bills. He was hooked on finish carpentry from the start, and spent the next few years moving up the ranks from a carpenter’s assistant position all the way to lead carpenter. Andy started taking on some of his own trim-carpentry and remodeling jobs in 2008, which eventually led to him start his own home-building and renovation company, Modern Oak Construction, in 2013.
