After starting his career as a union carpenter, Chet Zebroski bumped into California’s late-1970s housing slump. Moving on to the painters’ union, he applied toxic finishes at an oil refinery. Thinking longer term, Chet decided to combine his love of sculpture and building by studying architecture. He did on-the-job training with JSW/D Architects in Berkeley, and is now a partner with Erickson Zebroski Design Group in San Francisco (www.ezdg.net).
