Hugh Schreiber

At 19, after successfully painting his mother’s fence in less than a month, Hugh Schreiber responded to a help-wanted ad for experienced painters. At that point, everything he knew about painting came from the instructions on the back of the paint can. “If you’re painting a fence or a garage door, those instructions may suffice,” says Hugh. “A house is another story.” Hugh works and lives in the Bay Area, but these days, he’s doing less painting and more remodeling.
