I grew up watching WGBH’s The New Yankee Workshop and reading issues of Fine Homebuilding. I landed my first job as a laborer as soon as I could drive. After earning my bachelor’s degree in construction management from Wentworth Institute of Technology, I started my own building company where I was a boots-on-the-ground style general contractor. If we were pouring a foundation, I was lumping forms. If we had 11 framers onsite, I made 12. I don’t build with my hands anymore, but I manage projects with the same mentality: quality, efficiency, and always pushing the envelope with new ideas and techniques.
