A long-term love of carpentry and a case of terminal boredom led Steve Mittendorf to leave his engineering career and to start his own construction business in Seattle 20 years ago. That led to building his dream house in the San Juan Islands of Washington. When he’s not running his business, he and his wife enjoy cooking and adventuring in the great outdoors.
