10″ cedar shiplap siding install. Any long term experience with stainless trim screws into osb?
Due to wanting the cladding to flow all the way to the windows, without window trim, I’m wondering if stainless trim screws are my best option.
Obviously ring shank’s will provide more head size, but If anything happens down the road to some of the siding, or if a window needs replaced it would be great to have screws in there.
Second, If running vertically would a screw into 7/16 osb suffice for pullout strength if the recommendation is 1.25 into framing with nails?

One of many reasons for having trim around a window and butting siding to the trim is for the very reason you mentioned ie removing or replacing a window. Just remove trim change window reinstall trim, no siding touched or damaged in the process. Your way, remove siding to get the window changed and then replace siding. Much bigger job and risk of damage to siding increases with every board you try to remove.
