I am now getting my life back together and feel like posting some stairshop pictures again.
This is a curved stairway that I am just starting. It turns 103 degrees..and will have poplar risers/skirts/…iron balusters… and oak treads/railing
These are the forms being built up three dimensionally from the two dimension full scale plan I have drawn on the floor.

This is my little laser that is now shooting a red line around inside my forms. If you look closely..to the right of the laser you will see a story pole that has the target marks for the laser beam..and all the tread heights.
This is extremely handy.. accurate..and fast for laying out all the treads and risers..later to be routed out.
This is a view of the forms showing the different pitched inside and outside stringers. I am now ready to start gluing up the laminates.

very cool to see your process, hope you continue through the whole project. I appreciate the text explaining what is going on. While I have built quite a few curved stair cases they were "stick framed" with a sort of horse and 1&1/8 pie shaped treads from a snap on the floor. The rail were a glued up curve, but I've only seen the beautiful kind you are doing already finished.Anyway, keep posting your progress! scott
Yo Stan! Great news with your kid! Glad to hear he's doing well and it's also great to see you doing better again too. Looking forward to seeing what ya got going again.

Jerrald: Thanks....I have been busy as ever building stairways...but have been in a zombie mode for a year. Now that Jeff is doing better..I am as well.
I will post updates on this stairway from time to time.

Stan,
Hope all is going better.
Glad to see pics again, as usual, awesome work!!Ditch
Great to see you back Stan, glad to hear your son is doing better.
I was just thinking, you must have a zillion holes in your floor, from making all these different staircases. Do you screw all those studs in place? After you remove all your studs, do you have to sand your floor smooth for the next layout?Bob

Love seeing your work in progress, Stan. Give us some details of the stringer lamination process, and the routing of the housings for the treads and risers.
Thanks guys. Pro---I have concrete floors in my shop. What I do is lay down so 1/2 inch osb and screw my curved forms to that. When they get all tired looking after a year,,,I just throw down new osb.
Got back on this stairway for a few days...Here it is as it is right now....
