Guys,
Again, thanks to you pros for putting up with the comments of, if not an amateur, certainly not a pro. Friday morning next I get to take delivery of the shingles for the shop at the cottage. My best friend and I were discussing this, and I mentioned the factoid that big-guy builders are happy with one square per hour, well-installed. I allowed I could put on 17 squares this weekend that way, and Herself said a fairly derisive comment about my achieving 58 years of survival tomorrow. I take that as a challenge, which fact she perceived instantly (we’ve been together 25 years)and said: “Oh, Honey, please don’t.” I may.
But my reason for posting is to vent a bit. Every day I go to the Pentagon and see the gash in our heart as dawn breaks. That sucks. Try to see a picture of your Pentagon today, and if you can’t, I’ll smuggle a camera past the three lines of perimeter defense and take you a picture. The daed and debris are mostly gone, and they’re trying to re-establish a firm base to build to. BIG hole now.
Random thoughts:
1. Bless our troops around Kandahar–this isn’t going to be pretty.
2. The young American that joined the Taliban has committed treason and accessory to capital murder, but I want him back here only because his parents are Americans who love their son, naturally.
3. We have no rational reason to fear any kind of a nuclear device for the time being. This warrantty expires in 30 days or so.
5. Iraq is next.
6. It’s good right now to let Israel slip her leash.
God bless America, and God help us to get it right.
