HO wants me to install a bidet, but we cannot find one as tall as her toilet, which is 17″ at the rim; 18″ including the seat. She is getting on in years and finds it easier to stand back up with the higher seat. Toto Piedmont style matches the toilet, but it is only 15″ high. http://admin.totousa.com/Product%20Downloads/SS-00230,%20BT500,%20V.02.pdf Does anyone know of an 18″ high bidet with vertical spray and flushing rim, preferably similar in style to the piedmont? Does anyone know of a 3″ riser for bidets to make them taller? I have an old scrap of 4×8 lumber, but I don’t think that’s the decor look she has in mind for her bathroom. 🙂 I’ve e-mailed Toto, but haven’t heard back yet. I’m guessing that if they had something like what we’re looking for, it would be shown on their website.

Either build a tile platform or get a countertop guy to make you a profile-matched riser from solid-surface countertop material.
Thanks for the suggestion. HO likes a vinyl sheet goods floor because she thinks tile would be cold and slippery, so a tile platform could look odd.
Solid surface material could be a good choice. She already has a Corian the vanity top and Corian guys probably have lots of scraps that could be glued up to make a 3" riser.
Bruce,
The standard height for floor mounted bidets seems to be 15 to 16 inches. How about a wall hung bidet where you could adjust the height at the the carrier? Do a search for Duravit and Laufen wall hung bidets.
thanks for the suggestion.
I checked them out, but they have only deck-mounted faucet types. My French HO wants vertical spray with flushing rim, through which hot water runs so that the porcelain is comfy warm to sit on.
Another alternative is to add a bidet seat that installs on her existing toilet, in this situation it's probably the easiest way to make her happy. Take a look at this website to find out more about them http://www.bidet-toilet-seat.com
Hope that helps and good luck!
Thanks, but she is French and she wants the real thing.
bidet riser
i seem to have checked many many sites on internet and can find nothing w/riser for bidet,
i checked w/plumber who does not have the answer but to pour cement!!!
our bidet needs to be taller as it is tooooooooooo hard to get up off it----they make toilets now that are high, so why not make a bidet same way????
if you find something would appreciate an answer soon, thank you very much
bidet riser
just needed to add, they make risers for toilets
where is some company going wrong by not making risers for bidets???
Get a countertop company to make a riser out of stacked scraps of solid surface countertop.
Whoops
I typed too hastily. I meant to say: I'm hoping you did NOT go the bidet seat (washlet) route!
