1930s double brick concrete parge and vapour barrier? What is this?
I’ve been trying to figure out what that concrete parge on the double brick wall is, but can’t find any information online. I see this on every brick house demolition in Toronto.
What’s the purpose of that concrete parge? Why was it used? Is it likely to contain asbestos? A black sheet of building paper is attached to the concrete, and then furring strips on top of the paper.
Thanks!
