Built this little addition for my Son in Oregon this weekend. It isn’t very large but makes his small deck more functional as a dining and entertaining area. Bob

p.s.- thanks again fo da hat!! Don't normally wear one, kinda like lettin my dome shine, but I'll be advertizin for ya at the woodworkin show dis weekend...
*Bob: I have to agree with Greg. My eyes always focus on those benches of yours. Cant wait till my deck rots so I can attempt to clone your work. Good job.
*Thanks, Guys- the picture was takin before we installed the 5/4x10 tk cedar fascia wrap. The kids were so happy to get rid of the full picket rail that wrapped this little deck before. It made it feel like a playpen for grownups.Yes,my tools got wet.
*Pro-Dek, I think I qualify as a long time lurker on this site, but let me drop in to say that that's another great job.I'm glad you mentioned the wet tools. We're not quite in a drought around here, so I was about to ask what the gloss finish was that could stand up to full sunlight...
*Thanks John- Sorry, but the gloss finish is just good ole Northwest rain.My son wanted to stain before the rain but will now have to wait for 3 nice days in a row.Gloss finishes "Silkins" just don't work around here.We use Superdeck Transparent stain because it applies well every year. Bob
*That is a really nice deck you have built there. I really like the way you composed the benches .I live up here in Tacoma so I know all too well about the "glossy finishes". I plan on building a deck off the back of my house next year and hope it turns out as nice. I was curious what type of wood did you build the benches out of ?
*Thanks Chris B-My other son commutes from South Hill Tacoma to Issaquah every day to help me build decks .The bench is all clear 2x4 and 2x2 cedar set on 3x12 treated bench supports.Bob
