Hi , new to the board, I am in the process of building a 22 x 24 2 car garage. Foundation & slab are done and i am going to be laying out and squaring the sill plates. My concrete anchors are sitting about 2-inches in from the edge of footing. Plans call for a 2 x 6 sill plate and a 2 x 4 toe plate on top of it. Could I use two 2 x 6 sill plates on top of each other? I want the anchors to go through both plates, any disadvantage to doing this? my only other option is to cut the anchors and drill in new ones closer to the edge of footing -thanks all

Yes, you can do it without any problems. I do it on every house. Tomorrow I'm starting to frame a garage also and that's the first thing I'll be doing. The second plate doesn't have to be treated but you have to use the right nails to nail that into the first sill plate if it's acq. Once that's done then you can nail your studs into the second plate with regular nails.
