2009 Green Building Federal Tax Credits
Has anyone looked over the tax credits available from the federal govt. for green building improvements? Wow!
http://www.energystar.gov/index.cfm?c=products.pr_tax_credits
Here’s what I’m considering:
New roof – 10% up to $500.
Retrofit foam in my uninsulated walls – 10% up to $500.
Replace has furnace and A/C with new ground source heat pump – 30% up to $2000.
Install roof mounted PV system – 30% of cost, NO MAXIMUM CAP!
With remodeling and new construction markets so depressed right now and these generous credits, maybe 2009 is THE year to go green?
I haven’t even begun to look at state (Missouri) and local utility incentives.

Thanks for posting that link. I remember the story about the tax credits being renewed but I hadn't seen the specifics. Food for thought, certainly.
Good luck with the state incentives from Missouri as we are still in the dark ages thanks to our backwards thinking politicans.

I'd like to see a list of which products to use or at least which products to avoid when trying for these tax credits.
I'm betting a lot of snake oil is coming?
