Hello All!
Starting a new thread for this year’s Pedal Plane. If you do a search, you can find the thread I first started in 2008, but not too many pictures are there. But that’s OK, you can go to http://www.freewebs.com/glenndalepedalplane/ and see pictures of the past five years of planes.
I began building pedal planes as a charity project for my pilot’s club. Each year we have an event to raise money for SMA Support, with airplane rides, kids activities, warbird rides, and a pedal plane raffle. I wanted to give back, so I combined my joy of flying and my profession of woodworking to come up with a great idea.
Last year was a slow year, only $510 was raised through the pedal plane raffle, but over $10,000 was raised through the whole event. I want this year to be better. Breaktime’s own IBEWChuck was the winner last year, way toi go Chuck!
Before shipping Chuck’s plane off, I had a little “Gathering of the Pedal PLanes” Four out of the five made it, which was pretty cool. Not as cool as the blue pedal plane being hangered with a P-51 and T-6, but still cool.
Go check out the website:http://www.freewebs.com/glenndalepedalplane/ and buy a ticket or two. Thanks.
Mitch

Mitch, Great Idea!
I went to through the link and was pretty darn impressed with the cause and the craftmanship. I'm going to send a check to you today through the address listed. I was not able to use the online buy-they couldn't find my shopping cart. Something about enabling cookies which I thought I had.
Best of luck in the fundraiser.
thanks.
Thanks Calvin!
Turnout at the event has been pretty small this year. 27 tickets sold so far. Still have 3 hours to go.
I did get your mail with the check, so you're in. Drawing is at 5 p.m. today.
Take care.
Mitch
Glad I could help out.
Would be great to be a winner, I've a 10 m.o. grandson that would look good in that plane. Luck in the draw is not my usual good suit, so happy you rcvd the donation.
