   If you use the 23ga, you should also use glue.  There is no head on the pin to hold the toe kick to the cabinet.You get out of life what you put into it......minus taxes.

   The lack of a head on the 23 gauge is why I ask (my Porter Cable pinner will only shoot headless pins). Gluing is going to be a problem in that there are little plastic spacers at the edge of each cabinet so if the 1/8" decorative panel (whatever it is properly called) is glued at the centers, it will be wavey - although under the cabinets, it probably wouldn't be too noticeable. I may try using double sided tape along with the pins as the tape appears to be about the right thickness to match the height of the little plastic strips.Thanks, folks

   I can't quite picture "little plastic spacers at the edge of each cabinet ", but couldn't you just shim out as needed so that the toe kick trim piece lays flat?

   Anyway, double-sided mounting tape should work just fine, but then why bother with the pins.

   The "spacers" are little vertical plastic strips near the corner of each box. I don't know why they are there, but they ain't gonna disappear without a significant struggle. They stand about 1/32" proud of the MDF that is the toekick. As for the pins and the tape, I just don't completely trust the tape - sort of a "belt and suspenders" approach.

   How about cove base adhesive and the little manifold spreader tip you use for it. Either that or just cut tip of adh a little large and make nice s shaped pattern, there is really nothing to make the stuff want to come off.   If your plastic things are only 1/32 proud it should give you plenty of grab/build.  Pop a few 23's to make sure it stays till cured.For those who have fought for it Freedom has a flavor the protected will never know.

   I just blasted some shoe onto ply wainscot with the 23.

   one shot per flat ... primed ... painter will love me ...

   Hot glue + some kind of adhesive. DAP latex caulk seems popular around here, but you could choose something more robust if you ph34R!
