24″ square ceramic tile going on a concrete floor.
Think one should back butter the tiles in addition to placing the thinset on the concrete?
Thanks

Use 1/2" square notched trowel on floor with thinset & you shouldn't have to butter them up.
How flat is the floor? I suspect that you will endup back buttering them.
Try it and see what coverage that you get.
One problem is just getting enough force on it to get that much thinset to spread out.
The data is for a cousin in another state doing their first floor in a kitchen.
The floor was terribly sloped towards the middle in that they are using a floor leveler to reduce the impact.
Luckily there is someone there with some flooring experience as I understand it. Just wanted some info to give them to see how capable their advisor is.
Thanks all.
