A local tool supplier up here (Vancouver, BC) is offering a 24 V Bosch 3 Tool combo–Recip, 6 1/2″ circular, and 1/2″ Hammer drill.
They also toss in a flashlight, like most of ’em, but I don’t call that a tool.
Two batteries and charger, as usual. Doesn’t say L-ion, so I assume nicads.
I haven’t heard much about the Bosch 24V.
I tried a search here, but came up blank. (Could be my syntax or whatever.)
Any experience out there with these?
BTW they’re on for $300.00Can. including case.
Thanks.

Hole hawgs are heavy, do do the job.Worth the weight?

<<you want the 24v to strp in for a hole hawg...>>No, no, no. Nothin can break your arm, or pull you off a ladder like a Hole Hawg! Are the Bosch's heavy, but like a Hole Hawg, worth it? Is my question.
I have the 18volt Bosch kit, and also the 24 volt Bosch miter saw. It's rare that I've encountered anything with my 18volt drill that it couldn't handle - and I suspect that those few times that I switched over to corded, the 24 would've been much better. With the circ saw - hard to say - I had to have the 18 volt circ saw serviced, cause the service center said that if you run it too hard, the solder will melt right off the contacts - I don't know if having a few more volts would have prevented that - I know the saw is exactly the same design aside from the voltage as the 18.Personally, I woouldn't buy into a Bosch 24 kit at this time. If it was me, I'd wait to buy into one of the newer LIIon systems such as DW, MW or MK.Bosch has a new 36volt system as well, but I don't think they've made too many tools for it yet.I don't think an 18 or a 24volt NiCad batt drill will ever come upto the performance standards of a holehog - maybe the LIIon stuff, especially the 36.My 18 Volt Brute Bosch drill is heavy as heck as it is - it's solid to be sure, but very heavy - I wouldn't want the added wait of the 24 system on top of that.JT
yes they are heavy.. but not as heavy as hawg...Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming<!----><!----><!---->

I have them, one or two others on the board do also. They are heavy but have great power. I would probably do 18V if I had to do it again, but I still like mine. Right now I would hold out for the LI-ion stuff, since I have a bosch 10.8 Li-ion drill and the fact that it holds a charge forever if unused is great instead of the few months that the ni-cads (yes, the 24V system is nicad) last.
hope this helps. rich.
Thanks everyone,I'll probably pass. It's the thought of 3 Bosch tools for $300 that is putting tool lust into my heart.Specially the circular, as my 18V is pretty lame. (It's a R tool, bowing my head in shame)Imerc: I didn't think it was as heavy as a Hole Hawg. I reckon that's pretty obvious. What I asked was if the Bosch was WORTH its "heaviness". Sorry if I was unclear
if you have gorrilla arms it is...

You can still bargain a little. I think their margins are pretty slim.Edit: The Bosch deal and others are "door-crasher specials" 14th, 15th and 16th of June. As per their flyer. I don't see that they have a website!!? but here is their tel # 604 294-1799.I get their flyer like clockwork. You can add to your recycling load quite easily, I am sure.

Oh, I know the place all right.
I don't get the fliers. It's no great loss.
IMERC will have himself, but Bosch is not everything, so I would pass, too.Quality repairs for your home.

Heavy and feels low on power. Sold mine. Was not impressed. Makita 18v is better.
I have that set at work. Mines the platinum series. (Don't know what the difference is.) Love it. Pretty sturdy, and plenty of snuff. And you can't beat the deal they are offering you.
