Prescriptive codes don't address the connection at less common angles, so base the connection off more typical ones using bolts, structural screws, blocking, and steel tension ties.

Not to nice. I went up with my partner and hung 14 sheets in an hour and a half.
"That's how we want it done"
I hope I don't have to go back up there. ; ^ )
Every one is wearing a harness and yoyo and we have toekicks. We tried to get it upgraded to impact board for safety, but the cost was to much.
With 5/8" rock and 16" centers it really is pretty stong.

I would hate to be the spackler!
The taper is coming by Monday to check it out. I imagine he will be quite surprised.
It has to be finihed to a smooth level three. The pitch is 6/12, walking is possible but not easy with any tools in hand. We have toekicks in the center of every sheet for foothold. I don't know if the tapers will need them or not. We have to have them to hand the sheets up. Mike

Mike Good work. The top side is getting taped and painted?
Who do you work for and whats is the location. We do lots of work in that area.
Who's doing the ceilings?

This is a new newspaper printing plant in Fremont Ca.
I am the foreman for the drywall/ metal studs.
Interesting job. Saw one of these in use last week, a laser concrete screed. I think PSI is doing the ceilings eventually.

you woulda thought they would've sheeted the roof with osb or something first. what's the point of the roof inside drywalled besides the architects idea?
Much harder to burn.

Good point. Any wood inside has to be fire treated. Although a lot of the pictured walls are not rated, non-combustible material is required. Mike

We suggested using high impact drywall for the safety factor but were shot down because of cost. It is all finished and painted machine grey now, it looks kind of nice.
The second level contains all the mechanical systems and computers. I think the sloped ceiling posiblly reduces cooling costs, but really have no idea.
We had a crew of 35 for two weeks, 18 rockers, 8 framers, 9 tapers. Down to about 16 men now, job should go 'til mid January.
