2nd floor kneewalls/attic insulation
Hello-
I am remodeling a house and have some questions about insulation. It concerns the 2nd floor, which will have a bedroom plus some attic storage behind the kneewalls.
Roof rafters ar 2×6. There is no eave/overhang, so no soffit or ridge vents. Roof is vented with regular vents.
My plan was to insulate the ceiling with thick batts running perpindicular to and on top of the ceiling joists, then with roll kraft-faced insulation between the ceiling joists. I was going to insulate the short knee walls with kraft-faced between the wall studs. On the angled part of the walls, I was going to put insulation between the roof rafters from the knee walls to the ceiling.
So here’s the questions:
1) Do I need to insulate between the roof rafters from where they meet the attic floor up to the flat ceiling?
2) Do I need to put in baffles to create an air space, even though there are no soffit vents?
I did a search on this and found some information but nothing that is just like my condition.
Thank you.

There's no good way to do this, only some ways that aren't as bad as others.
