Was using 2P10 gel today with the spray activator. Dang, I love this stuff. Great for self-returns on crown and small molding. Let’s me pre-assemble without running an 18g pin through my thumbnail. (red streaked stain-grade don’t fly so good)
Read both the gel bottle and activator can over twice and couldn’t see any mention of suggested application…specifically whether or not it can be used in exterior applications. Any ideas?

What's the full name, and where do you buy it?

2P-10 is the name, believe it or not, from Fastcap. DP must have gotten the stuff at JLCLive. I got mine earlier at a Builders thingy in Worcester. Pricecutter.com carries a similar line of adhesives, they're cyanoacrylate. I bought the kit with varies bottles of consistancy adhesives, but all you really need is the thick stuff and the aerosol activator.
I practiced using the stuff on door casings and it worked well. Not as good as a biscuit and Titebond, but probably just good enough to get the casing nailed up without the miter opening.
BTW, saw Gary Katz using the stuff when preassembling crown. His aid-de-camp stated that the aerosol does not affect the finish on stain grade trim. Haven't tried it yet to confirm.
I never met a tool I didn't like!
2P-10 is the name of the product. It stands for "Two Part/Ten Seconds".
You buy a bottle of the gel glue....it's clear and the consistency of a thick wood glue. And you buy the spray paint size can of spray activator. Spray one side of the joint with the activator and let it evaporate (about 10 seconds) while you're applying a small amount of the glue on the other piece. Stick 'em together and get it right cuz 10 seconds later you can't break 'em apart without splintering wood. GREAT stuff. You can use the glue without the activator and get a longer working time....how long I'm not sure yet. Gary Katz was telling us about it at JLC-Live. I bought some there and found that a local yard near me stocks it. I'm sure you could buy it online somewhere as well. It's gaining popularity quickly. Not sure who the parent company/manufacturer is....just know it by 2P-10.
I think the glue and activator together were around $40 for both. You only use a small amount and the bottle and can are both a decent size. Won't replace the Titebond, but for those pieces too small to put a pin through during pre-assembly it can't be beat. Also nice to be able to hang your glue-ups almost immediatly after assembly without having to handle with the "kid-gloves".

Why not ask Fastcap?

Or try asking Gary Katz over in the JLC forums.
I think that he uses it alot.
Straight from the horses mouth.......I like it. Thanks.
I'm over fifty now, so I don't trust anything that's new anymore. I'm still using Franklin's Highperformer polyurethane hot glue for exterior fast-acting glue needs--but I"m experimenting with Titebond III a lot! See, it's not ENTIRELY new, so I can handle that, though the color is kind of strange. I believe cyanocrylic glues are waterproof, but can't find written documentation of that (only stories of people that have used it for everything from exterior trim to surgical stiching. But I don't know if I trust any glue for exterior use that dries that fast...

i'm big on that stuff also. although a tad pricey,18.00 and yes you can use it outside as long a primer is used over it. i use it for returns as you mentioned, sealing end grain, and a dozen other applications. the weaklink is U.V. rays it breaksdown. because of the rigid molecular makeup. also in comparisons west system's, and abatron products are susceptable to U.V. rays. i just finished a large mahogany pergola around the perimeter of a use to be milking barn and sealed all the end grain. was it necessary , with that particular species- nope-. but with the solid body stain being applied later this summer. the accelerator is an ether based , which help with lower temps ,and speed. i'm curious if ether starting fluid would be a substitute??? this stuff changed the industry......happy easter..... bear"expectations are premeditated resentments"
