Are the spans for #2 and better KD Doug Fir-construction grade lumber for ceiling joists with 5/8″ drywall: This is of course surfaced lumber dimensions, not rough.
2×4 16″ on center 9’10”
24″ on center 8’7″
2×6 16″ on center 15’6″
24″ on center 13’0″
Or have they changed. for some reason, I thought 2×6 span went down to somewhere around 13′ for 16″ on center
Thanks in advance

Here's what the City of Los Angeles type V sheet says for ceiling joists of #2 or any higher grade:
For 2x4's:
12" o.c. 12' - 5"
16" o.c. 11' - 3"
24" o.c. 9' - 3"
For 2x6's:
12" o.c. 19' - 2"
16" o.c. 16' - 7"
24" o.c. 13' - 6"
Construction grade and #2 are two different grades of lumber, Const falls sorta between #1 and #2. "#2 and Better" isn't a grade that's stamped on lumber, it's a designation given to lifts of lumber that contain a lot of #2 and a few sticks with better stamps on them. You can sort thru them at HD looking for the good ones, provided somebody else hasn't already beat you to them.

I understood the #2 and better rule. I usually pull for as clean/staight as possible and will try to grab the best but I'm not usually not that lucky.
Thanks for your input, along with the other replies.
