for 5 years. Seems like cheap insurance? Except I see my liability insurance rising
Will it hinder the remodeling market for pre 78 homes…or will it open up a new market? I’m guessing some remodelers have/will stop working on older homes:

I just bumped up one of the threads on the lead cert. issue.
I don't see that you (legally) have any choice, if you do work on pre-78 homes. In my area, that's 99.44% of them... And, we're supposed to be giving out the "renovate right" handout already.
I did see in the article that the EPA is accepting applications for training programs/instructors. Wonder how much of the $300 fee goes to the instructor? I might look into that, if I was looking to supplement my income.

Thanks,I remember reading that thread but had forgotten about it or I would have added this to it.I think the 300 bucks is a recent development. I know our Remodelers Council is looking into instructors for a local course. I may look into the training it entails.

Yeah, the specifics about the training program are news to me, anyway. Thanks for that info. I knew some kind of certification was coming, but those are the first real numbers I've seen.
Interesting too to see the 2010 date, I recall originally it was going to be implemented sooner, like next month, or something, even though no training had been established.
$300 for five years, I can't decide if that's fair or outrageous (especially since I don't have any choice). I wonder how much it is to re-cert. for the next five.
Thanks for the link.
