3m flashing tape 8067 around existing door
I got myself in too deep trying to repair a door that opened and shut very hard when I should have actually just replaced hold on thing at once. But what I did learn during this is that the previous door installed by previous owner cut a lot of corners and I learned a whole lot of information on what’s right and what’s wrong. I’m to the point of installing exterior trim and I’m using three and a half inch board by 3/4 and previously there was two and a quarter brick molding and then metal aluminum white flashing for the edge of that to the j channel. Now our siding as you can see the vinyl is over an old layer of siding so I have 3M 8067 flashing tape just not sure where to apply it. There are some pictures here when I put some on and then change my mind and decided to remove it and also make some small adjustments to the underlying material for the trim to fit flat if anyone has any suggestions you know do I apply it from the front of door casing over that brown insulation material all the way to the Jade channel and not attach it to the j channel is that good and then where do I caulk my trim? I hope these images help the first ones are before I peeled off the old trim so you can see what was there, it seems like I can only add these five images but maybe with any response I may be able to upload more. Anybody with some help and suggestions that would be great I have been searching for seriously for months reading a gazillion forums watching the million videos just to not get it correct answer thanks in advance everyone!, ?
