4 way switch to single pole switch
Howdy Folks:
I need help trying to eliminate a 4 way switch in a run and add 2 single pole switches. One to the existing light and one for a new light.
Please see the attached document with before and after. I am not sure what wires I need to change and attach to each light….
Thanks

Without the multiple switches for a single light application, you do not need the red wires. Cap them off.
In the box where the 4way is, cap off the red wires, and make sure the black, white and ground wires connect to the same colors and then put a cover on the box.
In the first box, you need to connect the incoming black wire to the black wire heading to the right, and also to the switch. From that box to your new light, run a 14/2 w ground run to the new light Hook up the light to the black and white wires and ground the fixture.
in the left switch box, the black wire coming in from the left needs to connect to the black wire headed to the right, and also via a short wire to one switch terminal. The other terminal of the switch connects to the new black wire headed to the new light.
The white coming in needs to connect to the new wire to the light, and also to the white wire in the cable headed to the right.
In the third box, again isolate the red wire. the black wire from the left goes to one switch terminal. the other switch terminal connects to the black wire headed to the original light. the white coming back needs to connect to the white coming from the left.
All the ground wires need to connect to all the ground wires between boxes, and also to a short ground wire to the switch or fixture at each box.
This assumes you want the left switch to operate the new light and the one on the right to operate the original light on the right.
Sketch this out and repost for a double check and more feedback.
