Hey folks,
We have a homeonwer who would like a storm door for their 8′ tall single door entry. None of the big boxes seem to be able to get one and the door wholesaler in my area says he doesn’t know of any.
Yet, I know someone has to make these.
Any thoughts? Thanks
Mike

Have you tried a local glass company? That would be my first call.
You could also try Anderson, Pella, or Marvin, etc. If they make an 8' exterior door, chances are they make a screen/storm door for it.
Look up your nearest Alside supply center and ask them... I'm pretty sure they can handle it.

Get a 6'8 and biscuit join some 5/4 stock on the top or bottom. We do this for screens/storms a couple times every year.

Go to Home Depot and ask for the millwork supervisor - Anderson Emco does have custom size for some models including 96" high models. Not everyone in millwork may be aware of that but the supervisor should know this and be able to bring it up on their EdgeNet design program. It's a good product with a solid warranty that will make you feel appreciated by your customer!
I don't have any experience with them, but several companies advertise in Old House Journal. Pick up a copy at the newstand and check out the ads.
