I know something is wrong with me now. I had to go to my gyrocopter club meeting near Chicago Sunday for our club hotdog cookout. It was scuddy weather…and was holding me down to the ground….so…I found a legal sized hole and went on top. What a view….nothing but white any direction you looked. The destination was clear so I had nothing but clear when I descended.
The last picture is my destination at Lansing, IL.

I really enjoy the flight pics you take. And sometimes I am more than a bit envious.

Uhh, what happens when there is no hole, legal sized or otherwise, to come back down through??? Since that thing doesn't hover, I would assume that there might be a bit of a splat if you had to come down by feel...
how high is "on top"? how high can you safely go in that thing?

sorry,,,,,cant answer right now.
Spotted a gyro a few minutes ago. Someone with a LARGE motorhome (FL plates) pulling a trailer. On the trailer was a suzuki suv and a gyro. Not something you see every day in the Sams Club parking lot!
I didn't have time to hang around until the people came back out. Had to get back to work. Nice looking gyro. I didn't see the model. A red Two-seater with an eagle on the dash. Looks like they had the rotor stowed in a wooden crate on the trailer.
With today's gorgeous weather, it sure would be nice to be up a couple thousand feet.
JT..
beware the "sucker hole" ....
but they are pretty neat from above.
someday I'll get back off the ground.

Stan...WOW...those are some of your nicest shots.
The one next to the jet makes me think you should put a sign on your copter that says "The Flintstones".
The side by side picture is too funny..
BE well Stan
