Recently meet home owner who built home in early 1980’s basement was tarred on outside. Inside looks like 6 ml poly was installed and then 2/4 studs were installed along with paper back insulation paper facing in toward basement area.28 years later home owner want to drywall basement,and put electric heat in basement. Homeowner had a question. He said in winter wall would sweaton inside of poly but not enough to cause water on floor. Land egress front to rear so only front wall and 18′ of each side wall get moisture. All cinder block above grade is ok.i have many solutions from other carpenters but most are old school . Needs HELP!!! Need an answer , solution to problem……..

Define "inside" -- if the sweat is on the face of the poly facing the room, then it has nothing to do with moisture coming through the wall and is just like condensation on a window in winter. If the sweat is on the side of the poly facing the wall then it IS due to moisture coming through the wall but likely is inconsequential in quantity.
For the first case there are several different solutions, with the simplest one being to control the humidity in the basement (ideally via simple ventilation). The second case requires no solution.
