I set this 90 degree maple stairway last week. It fit very nice….one little place near the top had their wall out of round just a tad…..a little mudding and it will need no trim. You can see the small gap in picture 1958….about 4 steps down. Some would probably caulk this…but a “little” mud will make it perfect.

Nice, Stan. Open stairway to the basement under your curved stair?
I can see Carol Burnett descending your staircase, wearing that curtain rod dress.
"I saw it in the window and just had to have it".
Another beautiful job Stan. Your stairs inspire me, every time I see another new installation.
Great as usual, Stan.
Do you know how that lower stairwell will trim out? Looks kinda goofy with the doorway and then open well.
I assume your work will be rocked on the bottom like you've shown before?
Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.
This stairway I built now has its iron railing all done. I delegated this task out. It is very beautiful workmanship, but too busy for my eyes.......but .....the client is ecstatic, and thats all that counts!

The railing looks very Spanish in style to me.
After doing a steel fence and looking at the King architectural catalog for hours it kind of grows on you.

Guess I missed this post the first time around. Beautiful work, as is the case with everything you post. The iron work looks stellar.
It's just wood.
