I saw an ad in the classifieds tonite that someone has 900 gallons of sherwin williams paint for sale. Price is $1,000.
Anyone interested? 90 cents a gallon is not a bad price.

To prevent moisture buildup and improve performance, install a continuous air barrier—such as drywall or specialized membranes—under tongue-and-groove boards or other interior wall paneling.

Most likely its mis matched paint they have eaten.
Mostly if dumped together it turns grey.

Grey is nice - it goes with almost everything ;-)
anybody got a Battleship needs painting?

Every spring Sams Club sells grey house paint in 2 and 5 gallon buckets cheap. They get it from the walmart and supercenters paint stores returns.

The ad is very brief and under the newspaper section entitled "miscellaneous".The ad does not give any information such as color, interior, or exterior, flat, semi-gloss, or whatever.Periodically I look at the mismatched or oops paint at Lowes or Home Depot. It always seems to be dark colors and I prefer light, off-white for the interior. One good use for mismatched paint using it to paint and seal flooring prior to installing new flooring such as carpet or laminate. Any color can be used and it works to help get rid of pet odors from dog or cat pee, etc..++++++++++++++++

The returned paint at the Home Depot is re-tinted after being returned.
Turns out folks were buying custom colors and returning it, only to re-purchase it (at a discount) when it went on the "returned" shelves.
Anything to get ahead!
>Turns out folks were buying custom colors and returning it, only to re-purchase it (at a discount) when it went on the "returned" shelves.Hard to imagine the depths of some people's deception. When I get paint, it has a "cannot be returned" sticker.
If you return paint the cashier will open the can to make sure it's full of paint, and not water. I returned a few gallons of primer, and the lady told me she had to check. People had been using the paint, and returning water. ---------------------
Swimming through the ashes of another life, no real reason to accept the way things have changed. Wrapped in guilt, sealed up tight.
And I used to think I was creative. The people coming up with this crap have REALLY fertile minds! Evil, but fertile. What other "clever" crap do people try when running their scams?
Seems to me returning the cutoff little one foot pieces of trim to Depot for cash back is pretty petty and deserves a place in the 'Clever Crap Hall of Shame'.

I smell a new thread!
This falls under the "you can't make this stuff up" catagory.
Put cooler in shopping cart, fill cooler with tools etc. and close. Sit cooler with bar code facing up to be "helpful" so the checkout person won't have to lift it to scan it.
Buy a few sheets of drywall. In between a banded pair of sheets drop in anything that's flat, like a dozen 12" 80 tooth saw blades. You're good to go. $50 worth of rock and $800 worth of blades. Then return the rock if you don't need it anymore.
Had a part break on something you bought last year? Buy a new one, remove the part, return now defective item for someone else to buy. This got so bad, a store by me now "bands" all tools and plumbing items with plastic strapping. They do it so tight it crushes the box so the band can't be removed and replaced.
Buy some shrubs to landscape with, save receipt and tag from stem , wait until fall when people are cleaning up their yards and throwing out dead shrubs. Return to store and demand money back, plants have a 1 year guarantee.
Buy new toilet seat, return old one in box with "dirt" on it right by open end of box. They'll start to look to check on the item, then be so sceeved (sp?) out that they'll throw it in the bin and process the return in record time just to make you go away.
And then there's the guy who buys a wet saw, tiles his house, then returns the saw filthy dirty AND gets his money back and thinks it's okay. The store is a rip-off and makes millions so he justifies it to himself.
All related to me, (and too many more to type) by a friend who manages a big box.
Amazing what people will do. But god forbid something insignificant happens to them, stand back and watch them go ballistic!!!

Its used...
But if you have a house that is shaped like that....
There are no electrons! It is all made up. Don't believe it.

You can have the paint, you just have to take the DW off to get the paint.

If the paint is good, it sounds like a deal I did a few years ago.
I called a scaffold rental store and asked if they had any used scaffold for sale. I had priced it other places and was willing to pay about $3,000.00 (fair market value) for the parts and pieces I wanted.
The salesman told me he had about $6,000.00 worth of used scaffold for $1,800.00.
He asked me to meet him in a store parking lot, and bring cash.
