Mice are keeping us up at night. Our bedroom is in an addition on 1962 rancher. Cathedral ceilings, over a crawlspace. Scratching/gnawing noises up near the peak. Sounds like they area trying get through the sheetrock. Have not been up to look yet, but I assume they are getting in at the ridge vent.
I don’t mind sharing with critters, but the noise is loud enough to wake us up and keep us up. Cats usually get the indoor ones and leave em half eaten for you to step on in the morning. Short of cutting holes in the ceiling and shoving a cat up there, any ideas on how to drive them away? Poison is out cause they will stink. Thanks

All work well ... the last one is more 'fun'

Actually poison is OUT because a cat can catch a drugged mouse and die, no cats I'd still use warfarin, being as it is an anti coagulant, most critters go off in search of water and expire there, not usually indoors.
Traps with bacon grease works here..and I have two cats.

Lemme guess -- you used to have 6, but four of 'em loved pork fat. PORK FAT RULES!
