Now that the hard work is done, I thought I should post a big thank you to everyone who offered all the great advice on installing a hardwood floor. Special thanks to Goldhiller and Ditch who really went out of their way to help. The floor turned out beautiful. I also have a new found respect for anyone who does this for a living, hardest project I’ve ever done (of course I’m not 25 anymore!).
I documented the entire process but here are the highlight pictures. (I hope I attached these right) Thanks to all, couldn’t have done it without all the help.

You done good!
With the floor and with the photo posting.
I almost didn't download the photos because of file size and my slow modem but it was worth it to see that grain in detail up close.
I took the liberty to resize the after shot here for anyone else who wants a quick peek without waiting. Quality not so good on details tho'

Thanks for the kind words. I found if you use 'open in a new window' the pictures size OK as well. I didn't post the one's of the drum sander because I never want to see one again!!! Actually it wasn't that bad.
It's not display size that I was refering to but file size. 40KB takes a lot less time to download. It's noticeable on a dial up modem..

Great looking floor Mike, - a job to be proud of.

Thanks Bob. Before this we knew absolutely nothing about hardwood flooring. The people here were just terrific. I got help in buying a compound miter saw for the job and answers to every little question.
It's pretty amazing that a lot of these people work these trades all day long and still spare their time to talk about it and help out us rookies. Met some real good people that made the job actually enjoyable.
Unfortunately the floor turned out so good my wife ordered another 300sq ft to do the kitchen and hallway. Then she came up with a list of remodeling projects that will last all winter! Silly me...I thought this would be the last possible thing I could do to this house!
Nice floor Mike...
