A big Thanks from SYSOP and the Mods

SYSOP | Posted in General Discussion on March 18, 2005 03:36am

All,

We just wanted to say Thanks for helping make this Cafe/Tavern transition go so smoothly. Yes there where a couple of bumps in the road along the way but all and all we think it went very well. Thankyou!

Something that came out of this is that we found a good number of users don’t have correct email information associated with their accounts. This is important because if there is a need for us to contact users this is the method that we will use. So we ask that all users take a minute to make sure their email addresses are correct. If not you might miss out on important information regarding the forums as we are going to start using this tool to communicate to the user base. Also while your in there it wouldn’t hurt to update your profile…

A word about privacy: we will never use the email addresses for commercial purposes only for notification regarding changes and or enhancements to the forums. If you have any questions regarding our privacy policy you can read more here or feel free to ask.

Thanks again
Mark and the rest of the “Mods”

And likewise for your hard work! For the volume, it looked pretty darn smooth to me.

Watch it, Christi . . . this isn't the Tavern.  You can't say "darn" in here !

I thin it went pretty smooth too.

Maybe you guys aren't as bad as we all say you are.

I hope that after I die, people will say of me: "That guy sure owed me a lot of money."

Back at you with the "thanks"--you put up with quite a bit of grousing and deserve credit.

Mark, you've really done good work here. Far smoother than I would have guessed. Good job.

I tried three times this morning to post a thread in the tavern.  Each time when I hit "post", it took me to the "log in" screen.  When I logged in again it said I hadn't completed my post, although I had everything:  message, thread title, and tavern.

    Please help!

I'm thankful for the loyal opposition!  It's hard to learn much from those who simply agree with you.

      Hasbeen,

I have checked your account and everything looks fine so lets start from scratch.

If your logged in try logging out then return and log back in. If you can see the Tavern then its not an access issue it must be something else. Since you posted here that tells me that its not a matter of cookies or firewall. Try it one more time and lets see if after logging out then back in if it is better. Let me know. -Mark

        Thanks for the help, Mark.

Still didn't work.  I got this message:

        Your message is not complete:

You did not enter a Title for your new Discussion

Select a Folder for your new discussion

A recipient has not been selected

You did not enter any text

I did do all the above.  Since I've been here well over two years, I'm pretty sure I know how to start a thread!

        Thanks again,

UBuildIt may be onto something here - I had a really weird thing going on with the forums once. Talked to SYSOP, and they talked to the Prospero folks, but couldn't come up with an answer. Luka suggested clearing my cache and deleting all my cookies. And it worked like a charm.
Q: What do you call a woman without an a$$?
          A: Divorced.

      2. UBuildIt | Mar 18, 2005 08:33pm | #13

Corrupted cache page? We have this problem, mostly at login, and clearing the cache helps. Just a random thought.

          Hey Hasbeen,

Do you know how to clear your cache? If so give that a try and lets see what happens. Thanks to Christi if it works...
