A/C Tank Valve position when not in use?
I have the small, portable, single tank Dewalt/Emglo air compressor. I’m very pleased with it. I drain the tank at the end of the day or after each job. I’m often required to be away from home for weeks or months at a time. I store my compressor in an unheated garage in Canada. The temperature is often sub zero.
My question is: What position should the drain valve be in when I store it?
Once the tank is drained, I turn the compressor on for about fifteen seconds with the valve open to blast out any lingering moisture. Should I close the valve and trap anything left in there? Should I leave the valve open so that the inside and the outside are pretty much the same?
Thanks for your advice.
Note: If someone from Dewalt is reading this post, I would like it if you adden an hour meter on the compressor to help me decide when to change the compressor oil.

Seems to me that you are adding moisture to the tank, I open the valve carefully, and let it drain under pressure. You could open it when down to 30## or so if you want to be a bit more careful. One thing for sure...you dont want that residue to get blown into your skin...major infection.
As for storage....I leave mine open. Your humidity is lower there than in VA.
