a/c vent screwup.
forgot to add the blocking for the vent covers, nothing to screw to but drywall. attic side of vents under sixteen inches of blowned, some cannot get to. any hints. Do they make some type of drywall clip, like a pal nut. need suggestion.

What type of insulated boot did you install? The ones we use all have a sheetmetal face and flange. If it's sitting up there on top of the rock the two screws that come with the cover should self drill, spin up through the flange and capture the rock like an Oreo cookie. The only problem with that is holding the boot down as you apply upward pressure trying to spin in the screws. The boot wants to lift away and with the face in the way you can't get your hand in there to pull down on the boot. I would use a home made tool, a thin rod with a sharp hook to reach up through the grill, grab the side of the boot and pull down as you power screw up.
Yes they do. Try the HD (Crud now I've gone and shown the whole world my failling) big box store. Look for a dry wall repair clip. Looks kind of like an H bracket with a bunch of small holes for the screws to start. Then just break off the legs that show.
