I want to add an L shape bump out to my house that would cover the span of 2 bedrooms and also turn the corner of the master bedroom. Are there any specific articles in FHB?or any books that deal with this subject?Any help will be appreciated.By the way the bump would be 36”deep around. thanks

Are you trying to extend a portion of your house out 3' and for that bump to extend around a corner another 14'. I'm sure there are numerous articles on the subject and probably more of us that have experience in removing major sections of bearing walls.
Does this bump have its own foundation, do you expect totally clear space or is a post acceptable? (can be a design element if handled right)
Depending on the house and as I understand it, you probably have a single bearing wall. Can you build headers above the ceiling plane, or do you have trusses which should not be cut?
You can do what you want, it is only money that squashes dreams. Lay the problem out a little better and you shall recieve the info you seek.
