   13 year old BOY, since THIS girl has never been afraid of snakes and my unscientific analysis shows me there are way more males with this phobia, than females.

   An Asp With Class

   "Field and Stream" magazine used to have a closing column by Patrick McManus. His lighthearted tales were often the best part of the issue .... much as "Great Moments in Building History" was for FHB.

   Patrick wrote on a similar theme in his column "An asp with class." He had become accustomed to a paticular snake keeping him company every year, as he went under his cabin to either prepare for the winter, or to open the cabin for summer.

   Well, one year he discovered a problem that required professional help. Calling in the local father & son plumbing duo, he gave the matter no more thought - untill the two huge men squirted out the access hatch with the energy of launched missiles, yelping 'snake!' as they fled.

   It must be a plumber thing.

   And All This Time...

   ... I been thinking plumbers were used to handling snakes, whether the ones they carry on their trucks or those supplied by DIY'ers that get stuck in pipes.

   That's why they get paid such high fees, right? They know how to handle the tools of their trade?

   "Can you guess how they got Hubert the plumber out of the crawl space when he saw the snake?"

   Did they dress him in a frog outfit? Then let the snake eat Hubert and watch the snake slither out of the crawl space? Then slice open the snake and set Hubert free?
